Representing the Earth

A parallel is an imaginary line that is perpendicular to the earth axis.

The longest parallel is the equator wich divides the earth in two hemispheres:

             --The northen hemisphere

             --The southern hemisphere

Meridians are imaginary lines that pass throught the north pole and the south pole.Meridians are all same length.

The most important meridian is  called Greenwich Meridian.
